우분투 소스를 이용한 설치와 패키지를 이용한 설치

안녕하세요^^

우분투 13.04를 사용하고 있습니다.

최근에 APM을 이용해서 웹서버를 구축해보려고 삽질을 하는 중입니다.
참고로 mysql과 apache웹서버는 소스코드로 설치했습니다. php만 패키지를 이용해서 설치했었는데요.
php를 소스코드로 다시 설치하려고 php를 지우면서 mysql, apache 관련 패키지도 같이 지워진것 같더라구요.
지워진 패키지 목록을 보니까 mysql-common apache2.2-common 등이 있었습니다.

여기서 궁금증이 생겨서 질문을 올려봅니다.
저는 mysql하고 apache를 패키지로 설치를 한 적이 없는데, 패키지가 삭제되었다고 하는게 이상했습니다.

그러면 혹시 소스코드로 설치한 프로그램을 우분투(또는 리눅스)가 패키지로 인식을 하는 것인가요?

아니면 우분투를 컴퓨터에 설치하면서 같이 mysql하고 apache가 설치되었는데 그게 지워진 것인가요??
