Tomcat의 적당한 힙사이즈...

안녕하세요.

요즘 톰캣 셋팅한다고 여러가지 건드려 보고 있습니다.

현재 톰캣을 테스틑 하고 있는 서버의 메모리는 16G입니다.

처음에는 16G에서 시스템 메모리 2G 빼고 나머지 14G를 톰캣 메모리로 설정습니다.

-Xms14336m -Xmx14336m

이렇게 하니 톰캣을 종료할때

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap

에러를 뿜어내는데 톰캣값을 8G정도로 줄이니 에러는 사라졌습니다.

톰캣 메모리를 단순하게 많이 잡는다고 좋은건 아닌거 같습니다.

톰캣 메모리는 실제 물리메모리에서 어느정도 잡아줘야 좋을까요?

해당 서버는 순수 톰캣서버만 운영되고 다른 서비스는 하지 않습니다.

조언 부탁드립니ㅏㄷ.
