usb 포트와 네트워크포트에서 데이터가 들어온 곳 알아내기...

안녕하세요..
프로그램을 하다가 질문이 있어서 이렇게 글을 올리네요..
usb 포트와 네트워크 중에서 데이터가 들어오는 쪽을 체크하여
해당 파일 오퍼레이션을 사용해서 데이터를 읽어내는 프로그램을 작성할려고 합니다.

usb와 네트워크 중에서 어느쪽에서 데이터가 들어왔는지 알아내는 방법을 잘 모르겠네요..
poll과 같은 폴링 방식이 아닌 데이터가 들어왔을 때 깨어나는 방식으로 해야합니다(이와 관련된 파일 I/O가 있는지요?).
