Gtk로 만들어진 Telnet 프로그램의 한글 출력문제

Gtk로 만들어진 telnet 프로그램을 만들고 있습니다.

오픈 소스로 만들고 있는데 영문이 아닌 다른 언어의 문자는 아예 출력자체가 안되고 있습니다.

hi한글hihi 라고 하면 hihihi라고 아예 삭제되어 출력됩니다.

telnet을 통해 전송받은 문자만 그렇고 제가 입력하는 한글은 잘 출력됩니다.

분명 telnet의 패킷 가공과정에서 뭔가 다른거 같은데 일반적으로 어떤 부분이

영어가 아닌 다른 문자를 아예 먹어버릴까요..
