Is the gfortran compiler unstable?

First of all, please forgive me to writing in English. It is because I can't type here in Korean.

I have experience something strange. When I compiled a fortran code by gfortran, the output was sometimes seemingly correct, sometimes overflowed, and sometimes displayed "segmentation fault". This happened when I used the same executable file which was just compiled. This phenomenon has mostly appeared when other users run their jobs, so there was lack of resources available. What I want to know is if my machine is wrong or gfortran compiler is in charge of this problem. Please let me get your advice. Thank you.
