장비의 CF Card에서 리눅스 부팅할수 있을까요?

안녕하세요~ 리눅스를 공부중입니다.

어떤 장비가 있는데 저장장치로는 1기가의 CF Card가 있습니다.
여기에 직접 리눅스를 컴파일하고 설치하는것은 어렵습니다.

임베디드 리눅스처럼 (호스트)-(타겟)의 개념처럼 하고 싶습니다.
호스트에서 리눅스 이미지를 만들고 타겟으로 이미지를 복사해서 업데이트 하고 이런식이루요.

일단 CF Card는 FAT16으로 포맷했습니다.
그리고 호스트에서 리눅스 이미지, initrd이미지, grub 파일들을 장비 CF Card로 복사했습니다.
/boot/여기에 커널 이미지와 initrd 이미지가 들어있구요
/boot/grub/여기에 grub파일이 있습니다.

CMOS에서 CF Card로 처음 부팅하게 했습니다.

메세지가 GRUB 이렇게 뜨고 멈춤니다.

제가 뭔가 하나 놓힌거 같은데.. 그냥 이미지만 복사한다고 부팅이 되는게 아니군요. 제가 뭘 빼먹었을까요 -ㅅ-
