mount에서 users와 user option의 차이는 무엇일까요?

mount할때 -o 다음에 option을 주지않습니까?
그중 user와 users의 차이가 뭔지 도무지 모르겠습니다.
man page를 아무리 읽어봐도 그 특유의 간결성과 모호성때문에 이것만 보고는 차이는 모르겠군요.
보통 root는 항상 mount할 수 있는 것이고
nouser 는 일반 user의 mount를 금하는 것이고
owner 는 mount할 device의 owner라며는 일반 user라도 mount할 수 있게 한다는 것인데....

user는 일반 user도 mount할 수 있게 한다고 되어 있고
users는 모든 user가 mount할 수 있게 한다고 되어 있는데
그럼 같은 의미 아닌가요? user로 해도 root는 mount할 수 있을 테니깐...

여러가지 상상을 해 봤는데...
user option의 경우는 root를 제외한 일반 user만 mount할 수 있게 한다는 의미에서 users와 차이가 있는 건가요?
아님 혹시 user option의 경우는 mount 한 user만이 umount 할 수 있고 users option의 경우는 umount를 아무나 할 수 있다는 것인가요?

user - Allow an ordinary user to mount the file system. The name of the mounting
user is written to mtab so that he can unmount the file system again.
This option implies the options noexec, nosuid, and nodev (unless overrid-
den by subsequent options, as in the option line user,exec,dev,suid).

users - Allow every user to mount and unmount the file system. This option
implies the options noexec, nosuid, and nodev (unless overridden by subse-
