안녕하세요.

새 machine을 하나 구입하려고 합니다.

- 예산: 1200만원까지 가능할 것같습니다.

- 용도: 과학 계산 용입니다. 메모리가 많이 필요하며 floating point연산은 거의 하지 않습니다.

- cpu: 유행따라 옵테론 듀얼 코어 시퓨 두개를 장착한 것을 고려중입니다(예산이 될런지...). 어디선가 얼핏 integer연산은 intel이 낫다고 들었는데 어떤가요?

- os: 현재 Gentoo가 설치된 기존 machine을 많은 사람들이 만족스럽게 사용하고 있습니다. 그래서 이번에도 가능하면 Gentoo를 설치하고 싶은데, 새 machine에 설치시 애로사항이 적었으면 하는 바람이 있습니다.

- 완제품 vs 조립 : sun이나 hp같은 큰회사의 완제품을 사는게 좋을까요? 아니면 부품 정해서 조립하는게 나을까요? PC는 그냥 x나와 같은 곳에서 부품 골라서 조립하면 되었었는데 서버도 마찬가지 인가요?

주어진 예산안에서 많은 연산능력과 메모리를 가진 머신에 편하게 Gentoo를 깔아서 안정적으로 쓸수 있는 머신을 알고 싶습니다. ^^;;; 아는게 너무 없어서 질문에 포인트가 없네요.. 조언 부탁드립니다.
