노트북에 nVidia드라이버 설치후 까만화면이 뜰때

기말고사가 끝난터라 마음을 먹고 제 노트북에 리눅스를 설치했습니다. 다 잘가다가 그래픽 드라이버를 설치한 뒤로 화면이 까맣게 되더군요ㅜㅜ
인터넷에서 찾아보니까 리눅스용 nVidia드라이버를 설치한 뒤 화면에 아무것도 안 나오게 된 사례가 많았습니다. 로그인할때 나는 띠링소리는 들리는데 화면에는 아무것도 안 나오는데... 당해보면 참 황당하지요.

삽질을 좀 하다가 해결책을 발견했습니다.

nVidia드라이버 모듈이 노트북의 모니터를 인식하지못해서 그렇다고 합니다. 보통 모니터에는 EDID라는 규격이 있어 (자세히는 모름) 해상도, 가로/세로 주파수 등을 알려주는데, 몇몇 노트북 내장 모니터가 EDID를 제대로 생성하지 못합니다. (예: 삼성 센스 R470) 링크된 페이지에서 new_acer.bin을 받아서 EDID를 바꾸어주면 해결되지요.

안타깝게도 new_acer.bin파일은 13인치 (1366x768) 와이드 모니터에만 쓸 수 있습니다. 모니터가 더 크다면 다른 bin파일을 찾아보아합니다.

잘 알지는 못하지만 오늘 삽질한 시간이 아까워서 짧게나마 씁니다. 이걸로 한 분이 삽질할 시간을 아낀다면 좋은거겠지요.
